I recently copped a 99 q45t for my first car and its a decently clean, low mile example, but the shocks are god awful blown. To the point that hitting a speed bump or dip in the road over 15mph will cause the car to rock back and forth a whole block damn near, so I need replacements. Ive done some research and I know im not going to find OEM struts for cheap, im trying to keep it under $1200 and i'd like coilovers. But of course its the touring with active suspension and apparently a different spindle size. I'm confused and dont want to get the wrong parts as this is going to be my daily and all ive found is conflicting info on replacement suspension. I dont really care if the ride is going to be more stiff, i just want to be able to drive the car safely, as right now its a death trap

BC's with the 8k front, 6k rear Swift springs, 350z Brembos, 19" G35 Sport wheels, Custom intake and muffler delete. NOthing too crazy.

How do the springs ride compared to stock? Im looking to have something that i can lower the car but also not scrape because I live in LA and potholes, dips, and speedbumps are on about 80% of the roads here. Also be more confident on curvier roads and freeways as its just plain unsafe to go above 55-60MPH in its current state, but I also want to retain some sort of comfort.

also probably dumb question but new to cars, what is a spindle and what do i need to specify when ordering so i don't f*** up. only suspension ive ever worked on firsthand was e30 front suspension about 3 years ago, helped a friend swap coilovers on his e30, and we only replaced the strut/spring coilover.

Its quite a bit stiffer than stock. Even at full soft. I have a set of stockers with larger diameter sidewalls to help if I'm feeling like an old man but even then the coilovers are firm.

The spindle is the same as whats called the knuckle. In the case of our car, its what the strut is welded too. Buy with the knuckle.
