Last Thursday the car's MAF sensor went out. I threw a code PO100 I believe. I replaced it and
the car ran much better EXCEPT for this irritating low speed miss.
It was most noticable in drive and reverse and some in park. You cant feel it when you give it
gas in drive-just when you are idling. At first I thought I got a bad MAF but they gave me another new MAF-I tried it and it had the the same miss.

I ohmed out all of the coils and 2 of them appeared to be bad. I replaced them with 2 new coils.
I still had the same miss

I cleaned the IACV but still had the same miss

I cant remember but I think I got an CEL code for the Throttle position sensor. Also, when I
removed the TPS connector from the sensor the irritating miss would go away. I replaced the TPS as well. After that the car would not start so I messed with it enough to get it to run. I paid pretty close attention to the TPS directions so I think its on there correctly -but the engine seems to run the same or a little worse with the same miss.

The fuel injectors, fuel system seem to be ok. The car has good power at low speeds and high
speeds so it doesnt seem like fuel delivery is a problem.

Any suggestions are welcome :gotme

Update on this. Started the car. While the engine was cold it appeared to miss in drive. When
it was warm I took it out for a test drive. The engine did not miss while waiting at lights
in drive. It has a lot of power when I opened it up on the highway as well. Looking at the problem
makes me think I did not go through the throttle position sensor "learning" routine (used when the
TPS is disconnected) so that might be it. Another guess might be the coils not working when they
are cold.

ok so I got lucky and my wife says the original problems are solved. BTW the only reason
I know that TPS was bad is because I unplugged it and the car ran BETTER. The car doesnt
miss when the engine is cold and in drive now-at least this morning.

But I am still not done-
I am opening a new topic for the radio noise now-just cant seem to finish

The miss is back. Got a coil pack tester from Napa so will try the likely suspects which are
coils, IACV and EGR. Also cleaned up grounds under the battery tray, at the starter, and at the
fuel injection system.

Wife wanted mechanic to investigate problems so car went to shop. He let it idle in
drive about 45 minutes and he said it only missed twice in that time. He questioned non
dealer parts and said to put water removing additive in tank. Also the howling noise
my wife now hears is the AC whining we thingk. Real nice shop;
Guss's Automotive Center in Richardson TX didnt charge me anything.

I added one bottle of Chevron techron and one bottle of Chevron fuel injector cleaner
and my wife says the car has not missed.

Not sure whats going on :werd: but thank goodness no more money going out
