1998 i30 Room (dome) light

My 1998 i30 Room (dome) light works manually but will not turn on when door is opened. What are my trouble shooting options?

Does it not work when you open any of the doors, or just the driver door? If its only the one door, then it may be the door jamb switch. If it doesn't work on any of the doors, there may be a bad fuse or worst case scenario a wiring issue.

As tibbs stated, do your door courtesy lights come on when the doors are open? if not your door ajar button is probably shot
