Significant increases require 30% more power and that can only occur with more displacement or super/turbo charging costing more than $3,000 to get right.

$3k spent on advanced scientific education will probably yield better results.

Take the cube root of power ratios [new vs old] to translate in fractional second improvement.

If you start with 240 lb/ft to improve QM acceleration by 1.0 seconds you need to add 80 lb/ft...........that requires another liter of displacement or 6 psi of boost.

Get a y pipe , you wont regret it. If youre mechanically inclined get an 00vi or MEVI. The MEVI is easier to install but makes less power than the 00vi.

Without serious expense you can only get the reserve power out of a design. The amount of built in safety programmed in to increase longevity and protect against destruction from defective gasoline.

1996 [OBDII] was the pivotal year when new electronics in ecu allowed less safety reserve [more published HP] as ecu reacted faster with more authority [and cell lights] than older models.

As the Tuning Box increase the efficiency of the engine, you should see an improvement in fuel economy. However the amount of improved mpg depends on many factors including the engine condition and the driving style of the driver. Typical improvements are 10-15% however it may achieve up to 20%.
