I am replacing the clutch - 1997 Nissan 4x4 5 speed transmission. I have removed the drive shafts, cross members , wiring ,bell housing bolts, starter, shifters. I am removing the transmission & transfer case as a unit. The transmission is loose, I am able to move it , but the bell housing hits a plate that is bolted to the floor. this prevents the transmission from being removed. My question is there anyway to clear the floor panel without removing the floor plate. I have tried lowering the tail shaft to the point where it almost makes contact with the floor (does not help). I would appreciate any ideas. Thanks

you've got to be binding on something, mine dropped right out if you tilted the tailshaft down.
