My I30 doesn't start on the first time cranking over unless I quickly depress the accelerator on-off while cranking. If unsuccessful on the first try, it will always start on the second try. I saw a post stating to allow the fuel pump to come up to pressure by turning the ignition key to "ON" for a few seconds before trying to turn-over. This is not a huge issue except I want to use the remote start feature this winter ... hopefully. I bought the vehicle used and it has a Viper 5900 security/remote-start system but did not come with a fob. Hopefully I can get an aftermarket fob programmed correctly.

I will doing some routine maintenece in the next couple of weeks to include plugs and fuel and air filters.

Check fuel pressure. It could possibly be the starter wearing out.

With Ignition switch to ON, the fuel pump will run for @ 5 seconds and then shut off. So if you leave it ON for a few seconds before starting, it allows the fuel pump to prime the fuel line, improving the chance of successful start. So "max" is right to check the fuel pressure - @ 43 PSI with Ignition ON, engine OFF and 38PSI with engine running. If you haven't replaced the fuel filter (besides brake booster), then it's likely the culprit.
