1996 xe Engine question

Car: 1996 xe pickup

I have a 1996 xe 4x4 with a 2.4l l4 sohc 12v engine.
are there any other engines i could put into my truck without too much shifting things around?
This would be my first time attempting anything like this so please be specific as i have never taken any car classes and am learning.

You should be able to swap in a dual over head cam engine from a 240sx or something... you'd just have to change the wiring harness and ECU.
