I drove my 240 across town, then came back to my house; one hour later it wouldn't start. The battery, fuel pump and starter are good and working, but I'm not getting any fire from my plugs now! Any ideas of where I should start checking and replacing? note: when I try to crank it, it turns over but doesn't start. All my check engine lights come on as usual. Thanks for any help

1. make sure sure your Battery terminals are good and tight.
2. check engine grounds
3. I think S14 have an internal coil. so check your distributor cap and rotor for wear.
4. Still no spark, it might be the distributor.

I'd also check the plugs and see if there is any sign of unusual wear. example: burnt, oily, fuel covered.

I am not too familiar with the 96 240's, but if it's anything like my 91 and if there is no spark from your plug or plugs, chances are it might be a bad coil. One thing about coils either they work or they don't. They don't give you any indications that there is anything wrong until they stop working.

Had this happen to me over the weekend and it turned out to be a bad ground and a bad connection on the battery. I would check those first as thats an easy fix.
