Engine- KA24DERadiator- Koyo Racing Radiator (3 years old)Mileage- 80k on motorProblem- Intermittent Coolant leak at the front of the engine bay

Hey guys, I noticed a coolant leak, a bad one this morning when I pulled my car off the driveway, and found my car had leaked about a quart of coolant over night after a long freeway drive (50 miles at night no AC and around 75 degrees) The location of the drip was the front of the car right where the radiator is so its not the waterpump (changed out about 10k miles ago)

So I refilled the coolant, ran the car drove it around to get it hot and pulled it back in and could not find any leaks.

I drove it later for about 30 miles and when I came back I watched it, a few random drips at the bottom of the radiator but nothing hit the floor.

Radiator hoses are new and tight, radiator cap is a Nismo and isnt leaking.

Has anyone seen a Koyo Aluminum radiator fail? I'm wondering if I pressure check the radiator will a problem show up because when I was driving it at normal operating temp no leaks were apparent.

thanks for your help, maybe I'm missing something

Get a good pressure test on it and see if the leak presents itself.

Get under there with a good flashlight and try to find the source. Some "stop leak" at your local parts store might get your covered, though. A quart sounds like something pretty obvious, though.

just put paper or something under radiator and check where coolant is comming. I guess one of fin is vented or something.

How much fluid do you have in the overflow? You might just keep pushing out excess fluid when you get up to operating temps.

start with checking all your connections, those are were 95% of leaks take place, make sure your hose clamps to the rad. are tight and make sure it isn't leaking from somewere else and running down to a low point somewere away from the problem.

car is down for the moment, but the leak appears to be coming from where the radiator shroud or bolt in it (incorrect length) rubbed a hole in the radiator.

#1 lesson... never.... ever... let a shop touch your car HAHA atleast one thats not top notch even if its convenient

thanks guys, I was a bit baffled over the source as it wasnt any of the hoses and it seemed impossile to find where it was coming from as it just dribbled all over the radiator fins =/
