I've searched everything without luck so I'm struck.
One of my kids put brake fluid into the power steering system which promptly caused the system to start leaking...a lot! Therefore, I've set about replacing the entier power steering system.
I've got the rack out, but can't get the power steering pump removed. Have the adjuster removed and the bolt that the pump swings on loosened. The bolt comes out throught the pulley, but hits the side of the engine compartment before it comes all the way out.
Plan B was to try and remove the mounting bracket, but after removing a couple bolts I can't find any others and the bracket is still firmly attached. At this point the only thing I can think of is to remove the engine support and lower the engine to get the swing bolt removed, but that seems very extreme. I'm also considering dynamite or a cutting torch, but I'm hoping that someone our there has a simplier solution. Help!
