1995 Nissan 240sx Small Block Chevy Build Thread

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Yeah, but I went with the rigidracing piece, and I am sure glad I did. It is super strong. Not to mention it was less than half the price....including shipping.

Got my taylor battery box installed and looking good. My 93 breaking down has put me wayy behind schedule. Here are some pics of the box in the trunk. It is a really good looking box.

Let me know what you think.

I still need some things like:
Power steering pump
Alternator
Distributor
Driveshaft
All the pulleys

I don't think I am too far away. If I have some extra time next time I get some work down, I will hopefully set the motor in and snap a quick picture. :naughty:

Also, for those who have the Mckinney motorsports oil pan and pickup. When I went to set my valves and was rotating the crankshaft, it was getting stopped by the pickup flange on the main cap (crankshaft hitting pickup). Make sure your crankshaft makes a full rotation before you put the pan and everything else on, or you will have to do it all over again. I just grinded down the pickup flange that was holding the pickup until I had significant clearance. If you do that, make sure you do not get all of those little shavings in the motor! No Fun

Its been a long time and with just this small update. Got a big boy job so this summer I can finally go to town. I am still off at school, so I don't get to work on my car....ever. Kinda sucks, but I did send my gauges off to get custom mounted by Mr. Broadfield himself. Here is an updated photo he sent me of what work he has done so far. He is a great guy, good communication, and I can't wait to see how they turn out. :chuckle:

Hey eveyone. I finally just got back and got to see my gauges first hand and man they look awesome. Nicoclub's own Broadfield did all the work, and I wouldn't have paid a penny less for what I got. If ya'll don't know who he is by now I suggest you look into it. I will be proud to say that I am going to have some of his work on my car. I can't wait to get them installed.

I can't wait to see them installed in the dash! It seems as though I never get to see the final installed pics of the clusters I make. You can also feel good in the fact that you have the very first Broadfield Customs "S14" cluster. I have only made S13 ones up until this point. Good luck with the build and thanks for the business!

In the first post on page one there is a picture of the front sump pan, and the front sump pickup. You can get them from McKinney Motorsports. Or you can make your own if you have fab skills, just cut up a couple of old chevy pans. Or you could run a dry sump if you have boatloads of money.

Hey man did you ever finish this thing? I have a 350 in my S13 and I'm wondering what to do about power steering.

Still working on it. I am a broke college student so this is definitely a LOOOOOONG term project. lol

As far as the PS goes, check out silviav8forums.com
There is a ton of information over there that might be helpful.

You say your wonder about PS?........what are you wondering about? I may be more helpful if I knew more
