What's going on everyone! My name is Luis. I am an auto detailer and Mechanic.

I have a 1994 Nissan Pickup that belongs to my uncle. We got it from this Pakistani guy (I am never buying anything from that guy again) for about $1500. The guy lied saying it had 160xxx miles (odometer is broken) so I don't know the true millage on the truck.
My uncle drives it every day from SW Houston to La Porte, Texas. Its about 40 miles one way. He tends to be careless about the truck. Since I enjoy working on vehicles and going to school for mechanics, I usually practice on this truck.

So far I have replace the radiator, Front disc, calipers and brake hoses. I have also steam clean the interior, used the rug doctor and have given it an engine washed (properly).

Right now I am working on restoring the exterior paint. But it is in very bad condition, so I am taking it one step at a time. I only get to see the truck on the weekends.

I don't know If I should share the link to my blog, where I originally posted this, or if I should upload the images here...
Either way let me know what y'all think! My blog: http://perfectautodetailinghouston.com/blog, 1994 Nissan Pickup paint correction 1st post http://perfectautodetailinghouston.com/ ... orrection/

:welcome: to NICO! That paint doesn't look too bad for almost 20 years in service!

Since you're in to this kind of thing - which UV protector do you like for plastic headlamps? I tried Meguiars on the 3rd brake light of my Frontier after cleaning it up with Novus plastic polish. After the first rain a lot of white residue washed off of the light... I'm probably going to try this stuff on the headlights on my truck and wife's G35, but I thought the residue washing off was kind of odd.

For the headlamps, you can polish them, and then seal them with a hydrophobic. A good one is this Optimum Opti-Coat 2.0 - 20 CC. I have not tried it myself but everyone has great videos and good reviews. I haven't gone that far into protection yet. But I have been looking into this. Will be purchasing this soon for the pickup.

That's expensive, but I suspect it'll work better than something I bought for $6 at WallyWorld.

It is expensive, but worth every penny form what I've heard. This is apply to the vehicle after the swirls have been remove. They have a separate product for the windshield too.
If you are going to apply it to the headlights, I don't know if you have claybar before. But you should do that first, then you polish and then you apply this product. Just remember that its in thin layers.
