1993 hardbody v6 4x4 VG30E

when changing the plugs there is one in the back of the engine thats hard to access. is it really necessary to remove the intake manifold? or am i missing some way to get to the plug?

and with the old plugs still in, there is little debris around them. its tight and deep to the dirty surface, other than compressed air which i dont have, is there any other ideas on how to clean those edges? there is very little space for any kind of rag either.

thanx all!

Don't have the v6 so no hands on experience, but from what I understand you use an extension with your plug socket. Also check if you have the pouch behind the seat (or under the jumpseat if its a kingcab) to see if you have the Nissan tool for this. ( essentially a plug socket with a built in extension)

i am going to check to see if this Nissan tool in the cab. yeah i already have a plug socket that fits, and finally got the socket and an extension in there to fit, but there is literally no room to get a ratchet on the extension. as the ext. is right up against the wall and right under these lines with these plastic brackets right over the ext. a cheater bar sort of fits but the extension still needs to be moved around some and i have little experience and it makes me nervous putting that sideways force on an old plug.

anyway i need compressed air first i think since there is so much crap built up around the base of the plugs.
