1993 Infiniti Q45

Hi. New to this board. Found allot of useful info on here. Although, I am still having issues starting my Q. First few problems began to appear when I had to jump it off a few times...when that seemed to be resolved...I took her for a ride...doing about 25 MPH pulling into a parking lot ...she died. Totally stalled out. She wouldn't turn over...nothing...dead.

Starting checking out some of the thread on here and found some info on the fuel system.

zerothread?id=196384

I replaced the fuel control module. She started right up. Drove down the street. Got in the driveway.....parked...shut her down. Tried to start her back up....she did the same thing. NOTHING. She wasn't dead ...tried to start but...nothing.

What now? Appreciate any help ...

First time...clicked...tried to turn over. Had to get a jump. Second time...she just died. No clicks...no turn over...nothing.

And the stress test on battery and alternator with diagnostic unit showed what? The current waveform to starter showed what? The idle, cruise, and WOT high rpm fuel pressure was what?

An hours worth of testing before you replace components is often worth a lot.

Here's something I learned from reading NICO: You shouldn't use your alternator to recharge your battery - it stresses the circuitry. When your battery has run down to nothing (and there's usually a very good reason for that) you should always put a charger on it. The situation is compounded in the Q45, which has an alternator barely large enough to service the systems.

My bet is that your alternator is failing, which is why your battery ran down, and trying to recharge the battery has made the alternator worse. The Q45 alternator has three circuits, so one or two can fail before it completely dies.
