I'm new to this but am wondering if someone can help with a problem I'm having. I am trying to find the reason for an engine misfire under acceleration. This 240 is all stock, 130000 miles, auto. well maintained. I have recently replaced Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil, and fuel filter, I use premium fuel and occasionally use techron fuel system cleaner. If driving very conservatively, it may not miss at all, but if you need to accelerate to pass someone it will stutter an miss and have trouble downshifting. Occasionally it will do this from a dead stop. Am I missing something electrical? Could it be a vauum advance problem, Would like to have some other educated opinions, hope some can help. Thanks, Hooman

Welcome to NICO! This is technically the wrong place for this, but I'll leave it be for now.

My first question... did it do this before you replaced stuff? If not, something you did was not quite right. If it was doing it before, check everything vac related!

Does the car have a check engine light on? Does the light work?

You do not have vacuum advance. The timing is electronically advanced by the ECU.

Have you cleaned the mass air flow meter lately? It could be miss reading at high flow rates.

Are the secondary butterflies working properly?

Check your engine grounds. There should be one on the driver's side of the engine bay, above the exhaust manifold, going from the head to the firewall.
If that sucker is corroded/broken, all hell breaks loose!
