Was looking at crutchfield site to buy a new hu and started thinking about buying the adapter needed for stock bose speakers. At 30+ $ Started to wonder if 15 year old speakers would work anyway. After reading all the audio posts I did not see any thing about stock wires running 4 ohm speakers. As you can tell I know nothing when it comes to audio! I'm just looking to put in a low dollar system. No amps, ect. Just a decent sounding system. Seems from what I have read, Bose car systems suck! Just need to know if I can hook up a system without running new wires to new speakers. New system will probably be 50 watts or less. thanks, mike

You will be fine. What they are trying to sell you is plug in adapters so that you won't have to cut wires to make the connections at the speakers.
