92-94 SE has the VE30DE and were available with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic:

92-94 GXE came with the VG30E and only came with the 4-speed automatic:

Thank you so much for clarifying which engine type I have.It clearly looks like the second picture, the VG-30E.

My owners manual only lists VG30 or VG30DE,I am confused about the "E" part.

Does the "E" have any significance?I need to buy some parts for this engine and need to not buy any wrong parts.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,Maximus93

The VG30E stands for:VG - engine series30 - 3 liter displacementE - electronic fuel injection

VG30DE is used in the Infiniti J30 and 90-96 300ZX. The D stands for dual overhead cams.

You definitely don't want to buy parts for the VG30DE as they won't work on the VG30E.

From '89 to '91, all Maximas had the VG30E. But from 1992 until 1994, the SE had the VE30DE, while the GXE retained the VG30E. Since only the SE comes with a 5 speed, '92-'94 VG-powered Maximas are all automatic. But from '89-'91 you could indeed get a VG powered Maxima SE with 5 speed.

Whoops, nice catch. That would be dyslexia, much less severe than the time warp (and with less cross-dressing).
