According to a poster in maxima.org, the '95 maxima with the bose system DOES have the a-pillar tweeters.

thanx for the info. the '93 does not have the tweeters in the "A" pillar ... it is a four-speaker system. i'm thinking now that i just want to add a couple of tweeters. i would run the wires up thru the door panel somehow and mount them close to the top of the door panels. i just don't know if there is any crossover involved or if it will really add anything to the quality of the sound or just be a lot of work for very little return.
