Well, on a long trip home the transmission on my pickup gave out. Took it out after quite a bit of finagling and found a couple problems, stemming from one. The seal around the input shaft had somehow gotten a hole through it and leaked out all my transmission oil through the bellhousing over time, this melted some bearings pretty bad.
That said, I'm trying to get it apart to make sure nothing else is damaged, then perform a rebuild. However I can't seperate the bellhousing from the rest of the transmission. I've pulled the release bearing, and the clips around the input shaft bearing, so that should be fine. Seems like the back part of the housing is hanging up on the gear selector rod, but i can't figure out how to remove that part (picture below).
The selector is circled in red, and in blue theres a little pin that holds an angled bracket where the gear shift goes in, i need to remove either the bracket or the whole rod, either way should allow the transmission to come apart. I've tried just knocking the pin out but can't get it to move, anyone know how to get this transmission apart?
