Hello all! I am looking at possibly buying a 91 D21 4 cylinder. I was wondering if anyone can provide any general information about the truck? Like what are the most common mechanical problems?

The truck I am looking at has 97000 miles & is a manual. The over does not when if the timing chain has been replaced. The truck leaks no fluids and the brakes and tires are in fair condition. I have got him down to $1200 for it. Does this sound like a good deal.

Any feedback would be appreciated!!

1200 bones is a good deal as long as the frame is squared away and free of rust. I would consider that pretty low miles.
4x4 or 2wd?
You hit it with the timing chain. That is a weak spot that typically needs attention. Check out the front suspension for very worn parts/shimmy. This is more important on the 4x4 models as they typically saw more abuse.

Steering linkage usually needs addressing by that mileage. Leaf spring bushings are usually shot by now as well.
