1991 240SX: Valve Cover Bolts

So im looking over my engine today checking on things and i find out that 3 of the bolts holding the valve cover on are not tight at all, in fact i can actually just take them off. i would assume this would be a problem, right? the bolts don't look striped i can put them in the wholes, but when i tighten them its like they don't reach the bottom, or the holes are completely stripped and i need either a bigger/longer bolt or need to have someone drill the holes and find a bolt that fits...

the car still runs fine but i don't want it to start leaking or something one day out of the blue...

sounds like they are stripped. you only torque them five lbs . some of mine are stripped. look up timing rattle tutorial in my signature. it covers removing the valve cover. if it leaks , only a small amount of oil comes out and it does not affect operation of car.
