Yeah. The top of my steering wheel is wearing like that of my 1992 was before It was laid to rest. Replacing it is... well... going to be tough to find a black one in decent shape let alone have to go get it
Anyone have any experience with some sort of clearcoat or lacquer? Those hot days it can leave your hands a bit gross

Wes and a few other folks on here used to swear by the Leatherique products. I need to restore mine too.

mine weren't in terrible shape, but I bought "wheelskins"
I used the baseball stitch (took a few hours, but looks sweet).
As a plus (for me), the skinny rim fattened up nicely. I have big hands and it feels much more substantial now.

Ditto this. I've done these on a few cars and was very happy with the result.

Fair warning: Plan on a couple days' work, and wear a glove on your dominant hand. Constant tightening of the thread will leave fingers raw.

This is for my 1990... it is a very rare color so I would like to keep it stock. I have a nissan president wood steering wheel awaiting a worthy Q to install. I don't drive this one often. I love this car. But the entire nasty hand black leather flake smelly hand s*** needs to go....

The couple that do the wheels are usually on eBay, I can’t find them. I was going to post their site, wheels were $185 last I checked, they are in Clinton Twp Mi.
