Hi All,
I'm new to this site as well, as a new owner of a 1990 300ZX NA. The car was auctioned as salvage after the previous owner lost the right front wheel and tore up the right front fender. Actually very little damage considering.

Here is the question: The front fender is off now, and I noticed an open plastic pipe going to the air filter. It looks like some kind of elbow is missing. It's right behind the headlight. I'm guess there was something in the fender well? Any idea what part I'm missing? I can send a pix if that helps.

Thanks,
Greg

Welcome!
That "piping" is an air intake piece that keeps moisture down in the intake tract, which is VERY long in the Z32 for the VG engine. There are two of them, one each side and mount to the bottom of the crash bar or headlight cans IIRC, and larger ends to the ends of the air box. These pieces aren't mandatory for use (Nissan Z32 over engineering) and often we Z32 owners go to a cone filter setup that does away with the OEM airbox and piping altogether...but if OEM correctness is an issue for you (insurance, restoration project) these pieces should be in place, and can be purchased at most common Z32 vendors or easily found in parts yards.

Hi DCaff300zx,
Thanks for that. There is a K & N cone filter on there now attached to the MAS, but doesn't appear to have anything to do with the piping. I guess a picture would help...right?
