1990 240xs Engine cutting out

i have a 1990 240-sx with the 24 ke ?Engine at 70 mph it cuts out losing power till the car slows to 64mph than it comes back. it does this repeatedly unless i down shift to 4th than up shift than it will go a few miles before it does it again. Any ideas thanks in advance this place has been awesome for helping.

Does your motor cut off or doe you just have no power. I have had similiar problem. I replaced plugs wires rotor and distributor. Fixed it right up. It definately sounds like a spark issue.

new plugs cap roter wires 2 months ago only 1000miles it looses power but keeps running.

any mods done to car? auto or manual. Maybe its somthing transmission related???
