I just picked up a 1989 Nissan hardbody with the z24i motor and manual 5 speed transmission, the truck runs like a top I'm just wanting to double check the timing before I take it to get the California emissions smog test done , my concern is I dont see a terminal to ground out to set the base timing, how do I set the base timing on the distributor , it being computer controlled timing EFI set up, thanks all :)

Sorry about the late response. I only recently added z24i info to my service manual collection. There is no grounding needed according the Z24I factory manual I am looking at. The only instructions are 1) Check with timing light. 2) 5 deg +/- 2 deg BTDC and if not correct then adjust by loosening distributor securing bolt. It's that simple.
