i have the z24l w/ 4spd transmission in it and am wanting to swap to a ka24de out of 240sx and am needing to know what exactly i need to get or do to do the swap.

motor, transmission & ecu are the obvious. what i am wondering is if the motor mounts are the same, if i need to get the KA harness as well since i am going from the dual injector set-up of the Z.

any help would be greatly appreciated or if someone has everything i need and would like to sell it, we could possibly work something. thanks!

what year 240sx is this coming out of? Why not turbo the Z engine? ever heard of the z18et?

You will want an engine from a 240sx built before 95 so the obd2 thing wont be a problem. The frame mounts are the same but the block mounts are very different and will require truck KA block mounts or the 240sx block mounts. I would use a harness from a KA truck since it just plugs right into the truck chassis. You will have to use truck sensors though and a truck ecu but if that doesn't sound good then splice in a 240sx harness. I would use the truck transmission as well, since its going to bolt right up to the DE. You will have to use the truck starter since the bolts thread into the bellhousing. Anyway, that should give you some stuff to think about. peace.

BTW, the DE is a front sump design and you will need to dent the oil pan to clear the steering rods on the truck.

my only problem with the Z motor is that its having issues with the fuel injectors and injectors are $250 each. so i figured for around $500 to $800 i could do a swap for more power and have a newer motor. but its looking like a little more work than i thought it was going to be and everything and cash flo at the time is whats holding me back too.

havent heard of the z18et. will have to look into it. but all i want to do is get the truck to run for the time being and spend the least amount possible. all of the major motor work is going to be done when i finish wyotech.

issues how? the fuel injectors can be cleaned and flowed for less than 20 bucks a piece. Also, the junkyard will never notice a few of those injectors in your pockets, lol. peace.

i've checked junkyards and cant find one around here that has any hardbody's. i've already thought about that one haha. but i never thought about getting them cleaned and flowed. where can i get that done at? thats one thing i've never had or heard of anyone doing? i'll give it a shot if i know where to go or what to do.

also.. i know its off topic from the motor swap subject but what do i need to do to convert from the 6.lug bolt pattern on the truck to a 5.lug? can i use a 240 rear axle and diff? thats one other plan i'm wanting to do because i am going to want to run a nice deep dish offset wheel when its all said and done and a 240 or other 5.lug pattern gives me a lot broader selection when it comes to wheels. thanks for the help dude!

toyota axle and hubs are the easiest way to go. 240sx suspension needs to be shortened and the truck back halfed(lots of work). Check you local phone book somewhere in your area is place who can flow your injectors, call some performance shops. peace.

The knuckle and spindle will have to be machined. I've looked into it, too.

Look towards the bottom, it's in all caps.
