I've had this truck for a little more than a year.Early on when pulling one grade near my residenceI experienced an intermittent "missing" especially when accelerating.Of course, my mechanic was unable to duplicate the symptom.

Recently the problem has become more pronouncedand can be initiated almost every time I activate the Power "drive".

I say "missing" because it is a kind of "cough" or "jerking".Originally, I suspected a fuel problem, but the Power activation seems to point to transmission.

BTW, it also seems to be more pronounced during the heat of the day.

Oh, the vehicle has 200k + miles and though the seller claimed AT was replacedwhen I had it flushed the tech said "Absolutely no way has this AT been replaced."

So, I'm fishing for comparable experience, confirmation of problem, and any other recommendations regarding AT rebuild, etc.

Thank youCliffp

what's your fluid look like? is it burnt, or is it nice and red? Is the fluid level up where it should be?

200k is a LOT of miles on a Nissan auto. They typically don't last that long, so if it is the original, a rebuild is probably in order.

Well, after I posted those very questions occurred to me.

In fact, I remember seeing in another thread someone talking about smellinga "burning" odor that was attributed to AT fluid. I experience this.

However, I have no level place on the property here and can't make sense ofthe At dip stick anyway, so I'll take it into my lube guy. He's local (not Jiffy)and trustable (I left my Honda with him to change the AT fluid while I worked out in the gym and he walked across the street to tell me that it didn't need it - rare find).

We'll see. But I fear you're right about 200K and ATs.What would you expect to pay for a AT rebuild?

ThanksCliff
