If this has been answered already I apologize.Iam on dialup internet and just posting this took me over an hour!

Anyways, I have purchased what I believe is an 85 1 ton datsun. It has factory dually with what looks like a factory flatbed. Did they make these or is this some aftermarket deal?

The older fella I purchased it from worked at an old Datsun wrecking yard years and years ago and has kept the truck for about 17 years.

Has the z24 motor with a 5 speed.

If someone could let me know if this infact factory it would be much appriciated.

Thanks

I never seen or heard of one of those, doesn't sound factory. Do you have any pictures ?

He said they are extremely rare, I have seen one other one in Toronto at a large import show but figured it was aftermarket.

Its going to be restored in my shop and used as a work truck.

Wow, definitely different ! Looks to be in good shape for being 24 years old. Clean her up and throw some paint on her and she'll look good !

As a matter of fact the dually setup was offered, by what my FSM for 83 says. As far as the flat bed I do not know.

I had one of these. I think it was either an 84 or 86. It's known as the cab and chassis model. It came with no body which allowed those trucks to be used by different body companies, even for RVs! I know where mine sits, rotting, and I would like it back except I don't really like the guy I sold it to.

I feel your pain lol. Luckily I got out of that a couple years ago, but back then I was still several years late on getting out! Very interesting 720. I've never heard of that. My buddy has one; I'll tell him to take a look.

you should convert teh truck to a nicer looking flatbed or a normal truck bedyou could even look for a different company that has a truck bed thats similar to the datsun/nissan truck beds i kinda like stepside truck beds if i could i would switch mine to a step side

I have some damage to my bed and I am tired of looking at it and besides a flatbed is much more funtional Metal Beds around the farm. Just wondering if anyone had some ideas. I weld and cut metal good just never done a project this big and I know its cheaper for me to do it.

Datsun / Nissan 1984 thru 1987 Made the 3/4 ton

1988 & 1989 was a 1 ton Dually.

I liked my 91 so much I made it into a 1 ton Dually 14'7" Flat bed.

I also have a 1985 all orginial dually for sale. the frame is rotted in half so it can't be drove unless you can repair it.
these trucks are very scarce and I have searched hi and low for spare rearends because they do NOT make parts any longer. Nissan did make the truck bed for it not only a cab an chaiss modle it was 7.5' long there are motor homes and I have seen one with a tow rig on it.

that truck is for sale:

This one below is my baby and not for sale.

and the are not flatbed Stock.

they are Cab and frame only. with no mirror cuz they are all made in Japan so it was more easy the ship them without a box.

My Dad is the original owner of the 1987 D21 dually i have all the info, if it a real Dually or not.
