1985 300ZX Body Information

Okay guys and gals (if this pertains to any of you out there). I have read that the 84-89 bodys are almost the same if not are the same style. Is this true? I recently had a deer "STRIKE" me and my front left fender has crumbled onto the tire to where its not driveable (touches the tire other than that is driveable). As well as my left headlight has sort of "Hyper Extended" out of its home. Not sure if the motor is shot to let it go up and down but if so that is also on my list of things i need to repair. Just curious what vehicles, and or years will work for my 300ZX.All i am doing is getting the final "Yes" those body's for those years will work or a more elaborate description of what parts i should look for on what model years. For some bogus reason my insurance isn't covering so therefore i can't take it to the body shop to get it done the easy way. I hate stupid insurance companies and there lame a** rules........

you'll need parts for an 84-85 to have an exact match, the 86 hood and headlights are the same, the86 nose is a direct fit but is slightly different, the 87-89 hood headlight and bumper are not directly interchangable due to the redesigned headlights, the headlight motors are allt he same

86 nose is exactly the same as the 84-85 noses. everything else is correct.

I thought the 86 got rid of the detail lines on the the outside? but Z bum si the expert

nope. only difference is that86 models didn't feature that black strip of paint between the seams. the whole bumper was the same color as the rest of the body.
