Hi guys, just bought my first Datsun a few weeks ago. Dubbed "Serengeti Scout" before I got her, the truck runs and drives great with 160K miles on the engine. Its the l20 engine from the 70's 510's, but it still runs like a champ, just replaced gaskets and I've almost eliminated oil leaks. I fell in love with the 4-door when I saw it and I'm curious what the true enthusiasts think, I would like to continue restoring her and any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Are you in US? If so, how/where did you get the 4dr? If imported, how do we do it? I'm 68yrs old and looking to put together my LAST vehicle and had one of these before and was too young/dumb to keep it. (American king cab version). My time is limited to accomplish this project so any help will be very appreciated!!!

I'm 63 and I've got a 4 door 1979.5, 4x4. It's two tone, tan and brown with the original paint job on it. Mine's for sale, but the bad news is that she's got some serious rust at the moment, and I'm in the Philippines.

Would be interesting, however, to know where these models were made because I have had a heck of a time researching the history of mine.

Best of luck

Quoted for truth.

Also, if you're looking for one, look in Mexico. Even then, getting here and getting it legal might be a little sketchy.
