1980 Datsun 720 pickup 4x4 L20 engine, Can i put a turbo on?

Hi everyone I apologize if there is a thread about this, i figured this would be a good way to introduce myself to the forum and ask my question and if there is another thread please direct me that way. anyhow, i just purchased a 1980 datsun 720 4x4 it has the l20 engine a 2 barrel weber carb and i was wondering how to add a turbo to this beast without destroying the engine.

boost low and learn as much as you can about blow through carb setups.

However KA24e swap is the fastest and easiest way to turbo. 8-10psi on a basic t3/t4 setup with rx-7 injectors and a tune will make you smile.

ka-t forums have tons of info.

Turboing an L20 in my opinion, is more trouble than its worth. but it you are just doing for fun then grab a volvo turbo or a nissan turbo off of a CA18 and play around. I'd love to see a member build a blowthrough.
