I'm putting up my pickup for sale and thought I'd run the price past you seasoned vets to see if I'm in the right ballpark. Listed it for $1900.

Link to my local ad with pics: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/2509641165.html

What's been done to it:
Just had the carburator cleaned
New brake master cylinder
New head gasket at 188000 miles (head was professionally resurfaced and Nissan OEM gasket was used)
Other new gaskets at 188000 miles (exhaust, thermostat, water pump, valve cover, EGR)
Brand new front brakes
New front brake calipers
New alternator
Valves adjusted
Just had the timing adjusted
Carburetor was rebuilt by previous owner
New radiator hoses.
Tires have lots left
194K miles. Everything is still original.
Clear title
Tags don't expire until July 2012
Bed was sprayed with a protective liner and has a very thick durable rubber mat which you can remove if you don't like.
Canopy with working hydraulics and working locks on all three sides!

Recent mechanical inspection with no major issues.

Stuff you should know
The body is straight but has some dings here and there as well as some rust spots
No radio, but does have nice speakers for you to add your own.
Sometimes the interior lights take a few minutes to come on, other times they come on right away. Headlights work right away.

It's all in the eye of the beholder really. If its in good condition and runs like a champ, the right person will pay what you have it listed for. But if someone sees it as just another hunk of junk, they won't. Just for reference, I got mine for $800 with 75k on the clock. If had some pretty bad body damage, though.

I suspect you will need to come down in price if you want to move it. The pics look great and it's had a lot done to it, but the buyer will compare it to newer vehicles with less mileage for less money. Thus, you'll have to find a Datsun enthusiast for that price. I drove mine home for $600, but I immediately had to put a lot of work in it to become a daily driver.

How'd you get so many pics loaded on CL?

If I was near I'd stop by to check it out but sadly I'm on the other side of the country.

Sounds like a reasonable price for Oregon to me.

The price isn't bad, but it for the new owner to decide. I paid $3500 for mine with 156k on the clock and the engine and radiator in horrible condition, but I'm a nissan/datsun enthusiasts. if a quick sale is the choice then the price has to come down.

Thanks for all the feedback. It's still listed and so far I've only had one serious inquiry. But I'm not in a huge hurry to move it. Flinterman do you want to buy another one? I'd be happy to take $3500 for it. :)

Fastboatman if you upload your pics to your google account you can copy the link location and paste that in the body of your ad. Good luck.

I'd have to sleep in it but would have considered it if I was in the US. :chuckle:

Well the back is all nice and cleaned out for your mattress. Sadly I just noticed that my carb is still acting up so now I have to have that fixed if I want to fetch top dollar. I'll get another thread going.

if it was an 83-86 I'd consider it just for a spare parts truck if you came down about 400 bucks but its on the other side of the world and I'm a nico enthusiast too, so your mileage will vary with your local clientèle.
