Hello all.
New to interaction with other Datsun fans. Keep it short, now anyways. I have a 66 520 truck that is in the garage. Looks like a big job but I want a retirement project. So hello again.

Thank you for the welcome. Very happy to see there is interest in 520s. Had mine on the road back in the 80s, got a free truck from work and my 66 sat. Now its 4 years till retirement and its gonna be my baby! Stripped her to the frame. Its been sandblasted and painted. There was was some heavy rust between the rear springs, so that had to be repaired. Its in the garage again and im happier than a pig in poo! I will try soon to figure out how to start sending some pictures.
Best to you

Welcome Randy.

I have a 67 520 parts truck that I am parting out. I have not looked it over very well but it was headed to the crusher so I saved it.

The shipping will be expensive but let me know what you need if you can not find it closer.

You have any photos of yours?
To post photos you have to have them hosted somewhere, you then right click on the photo, copy the IMG image code, then click on the "Img" box above the reply field, and paste the code between the IMGs and you are good, at least that is what works for me.

Welcome home, Randy! Eager to see your project.

Charlie and Wayno are good friends, and great Dat truckers.

I've got a 63 NL320 (drivable, but awaiting resto) and a 77 620 (restomodding right now).

Let me know if I can help at all with your project.

Ya. The first time I fixed her up it was all cosmetic. The floor and frame were always going to be something I had to fix down the road. This time its from the ground up! Big Big job! Baby steps. I want her near completed before retirement so I dont have any big costs when my income takes a dive. I actually have two but one mostly for parts. I lost the power trains when I left them stored with family who ran into troubles. Lost all my pictures to a fire. Thats the past. To the future! Thanks for fixing the pictures. My hopes are really up with all the responses I have received!

Are you asking for a carb for a J13?

If so contact Pierce Manifolds.
https://www.piercemanifolds.com/

They can most likey set you up with a Weber DGV and a custom manifold. There are many parts that inter change with the MG. There engine is close to the J13 as the J13 was designed from the MG engine. some of the parts need a little tweeking to make fit but they doe work.

Thanks for the help Charlie. Appreciate it! Did you say earlier that you had a Weber and adaptor plate for a J13?

Yes but I sold it last week. I am downsizing as I am concerned about the posibility of back surgery. I have been putting it off for yes and my attitude is as long as I can still walk I am not going to do it. The problem is that the pain is getting much worse.

I know about back pain. I had surgery on my back about 25 years ago. I couldn't walk either, sometimes stuck on the floor crying like a baby. I had L3 and 4 herniated disc. Scar is over 4 inches long. Now the surgery is a little cut and your out in a day. I don't know whats wrong with your back but if it's similar, get it done. Too bad you already sold the weber and plate. But thanks for the source on an alternative option. Wishing you well.

Here is the down draft manifold/carb kit that will likely fit your J13, but before ordering you should call their tech about the carb, as you need one jetted for a 1300cc engine.
https://www.piercemanifolds.com/product_p/P17-002.html

They also have side drafts, here is that page.

Same problem with my back as yours. I am going to have the nerves burnt first as this is an insurance first procedure.

Look here for information on the J13 cross over parts. Greg I apologize for the Ratsun link but I do not have time write now to rewrite all the information here.

https://ratsun.net/topic/61446-j13-engi ... h-mg-also/

With most of the MG and Austin parts there is some fitting required to fit the Datsun J13 correctly.
