To those that have 17" wheels on your V, a couple questions. How much is the ride compromised with the lower profile tires? And how much slower do they make the car feel?

My fuel consumption drop by 2km/L as compared to 16" rims and tyres. Car feels sluggish. Btw I'm driving a 1.5L Tiida. If yours is 1.8L should be no problem.

My ride is noticeably harsher, but still liveable.

I have had a drop in fuel economy, but can't point to the wheels as the source... yet.

I have the 17" Enkei J10 Wheels with 215 50 R17 and they feel better than the stock ride, a bit harsher, but noticeably more stable too! Looks good with a bigger tire, too...

So I think the reason blind_snyper isn't complaining about a harsher ride is because he has a touring tire, not a performance tire. His sidewalls will be softer for a cushier ride, but they will also roll over onto the sidewall sooner, giving less performance than a... well... performance tire.

i would say that i feel a little more bumps than the stock conti's, but since 17 ussually have wider tires the handling feels a lot better.
