Hey all, I dunno if any of you care or not (or if this is even the right place to post this) But the Texas A&M Sports Car Club is having their Semesterly "Costascross" this Sunday.

What is a "Costascross" you ask? Well I will tell you. It is an autocross that is designed by Paul Costas, a race car driver guy with over 20 years of racing experience and also an instructor out at Texas World Speedway. Basically this guy sets up really wicked cool autocrosses that average about 1.4 miles. (the one last semester was 1.4 on the nose)

Anyway, the price is $15 for 5 runs and if you want more information check out http://tamscc.tamu.edu Fun runs afterwards will be a dollar. If you do decide to show up you will need to bring a filled out copy of the insurance waiver on our website. I will be checking back at this thread to answer any questions that may arise.

thanks for listening.

That sounds like a helluva good time! Let us know how you do. That's also a good deal for five runs and the dollar per fun run is pretty standard. Are there any prizes or rankings to come out of this?

no, no prizes or anything. And the fun runs are not a dollar per, they are just a dollar for however many you want.

Sultan, we get all kinds of stuff here, bring your big arse infinity and come play, it is totally worth it. We usually have about 75 cars show up, so I guess you could say we have a pretty big turnout. BTW we use SCCA classes and they classify everything from trucks to go cart thingies.

Caddyshack, they won't beat me. I will be runing R compounds :D

Latex - Good name :) I think racing pumpkin woulda been better though :D

damn. the autox that they hold here in cheyenne costs 55$ and no fun runs are done. but it is a 2 day event.

oh and i forgot to mention it is the ONLY annual street autocross in the US.

what they do is close down the downtown area of cheyenne and set up an autox course on the streets.

they average 150-170 cars and it last 2 days.

if anyone wants to trek up to cheyenne to run in this its held fathers day weekend.

ya know, I sign up on most boards as Tangerine240 and if there's a way to change it without resigning up, I'd appreciate it. I think I used latex to sign up cause I was in a hurry for some reason...blah. It's an old name.

I guess I should get that University of Texas license plate border off my car before I come huh?! hehehe Then I could at least get away with the orange, saying it's my General Lee. ;)

lol, you can get away with the orange, but not the license plate dealie.

BTW: Avery said he can't run because his battery box exploded or something, but he will definitely be there.

lol, Corinne, I didn't fill out either the health or auto insurance info. I don't have health insurance either, so no worries. Just put "N/A" there.

i plan on leaving at 4:30 in the morning (just in case), so i should be there before nine, hell it's only 200 miles, it shouldn't take more than 3 hours. on a trip back from austin i averaged over 75mph, with a stop for gas in a F150, hehe. how do we find you? you should be able to spot me, i'll be in a big *** green car with gold rims.

Well it was a great time today! I am exhausted though. It was great meeting you Keith! Congrats on your time! :)I hope to get there one day with some practice...I'm just glad I improved a little bit. Looks like you and Jacob were pretty close on your times! Good stuff :)

I didn't get any hellos from anyone else and wasn't sure to look for the green car since I didn't have access to the forums last night to read your post, sultan!

Lots of 240s...just a really, really good time. Awesome course...the only thing that sucked is how long the first heat was so I forgot the course pretty badly for my first run...hehe, whoops.

Hopefully I'll make it out to more tamu autocross events. I had a lot more fun than at spokes. :)
