08 Versa problems

Postby captainj4 » Tue Jun 23, 2020 3:51 pm

Hi club!
Car fanatic here.
Not so use to these small cars though.
Glad to be able to speak with you on some problems I'm having with my sisters Versa.
Apparently it's a inherent problem with the hatch button to open it.
This one quit a while ago.
Her mechanic tried grounding the switch wire on the hatch, worked for a bit then quit.
I tried replacing the switch - nothing.
Then I saw a video on you tube with the same car and problem. He replaced the lock and remote assy in the passenger door and it worked.
I replaced mine and - nothing!
Any of you guys got and idea or experience with this problem i would really appreciate it?
Thanks!
Captainj

This might sound dumb, but have you checked the fuse? I'm thinking if the mechanic grounded the switch to the hatch, it might have shorted or otherwise messed up.
So yeah, check for positive power and ground during operation.
Can you apply power yourself (via a battery charger or something) and get it to work?

If you don't have power windows, the assembly is on the drivers door.

You shouldn't have to ground out anything. Going to need to break out the multimeter and check for broken wires, either in the door, or hatch.
Also, make sure power is getting to the hatch release itself.
