I though this was worthy of a new thread...

In the case of our 00 Maxima with the Bose, which I was never thrilled with the sound, I installed Polk EX3055 silk dome tweeters in place of the tiny stock clarion tweets. Sound improved greatly - not near as harsh and much warmer/more natural.

This might be an option for you.

Are you not wanting to replace the head unit? When I replaced mine, it helped the sound tremendously.

Spaceman210 whom I quoted and started this thread did not want to change the head unit. Or that was my impression.
