I got the FSM but I am not 100% clear where they say the lift points and jack stand points are.

From the looks of it the jack stands should go where the emergency scissor jack goes right? But for the garage jack points I am not sure where that's suppose to be. Can someone take some photos and point them out?

Thanks!

There is also probably a pair of points near the front of the frame (front of the engine bay-ish) for the jackstands. Somewhere in between them there is probably a point where things come together and there is a sort of knuckle looking plate for jacking it up. The owner's manual should have an illustration that *should* be pretty clear, but maybe they tried too hard and just made it confusing.

Owner's manual has nothing except the emergency scissor jack points. The FSM shows two jack points one of which is kind of unclear and they show the scissor jack points as where you put the jack stands.

It'll be the first time I use a jack stand and hydraulic jacks. When I look at the jack stands it doesn't look like it'll be a good idea to put it where the scissor jack goes. And the saddle thing that comes with the hydraulic jack well it this cup thing and i am not sure it would scratch up the underside when you try and used it.

Since the car is unibody, I lift it off of the pinch weld on the front and rear.

If i use the jack stands on the pinch welds I risk bending them no? Since all that weight is sitting on that pinched lip.

If you have jack stands that have a recessed groove you shouldn't. I've lifted Muranos up by the welds with the feet of my lift up at work and nothing bends.

No grove...

So if i turn the stands side ways so it's not on the welds will it hold?

The rear jack point is it that block that sticks down behind the torsion beam? I think that's where the guy who changed me to the winter wheels jacked the car up on. But I want to be sure that's the point before I use it. Cause in the FSM it says something about a canister being near that factory jack point.

The front jack point is the middle of the black subframe/suspension frame right?

That canister is the charcoal cannister, part of your EVAP system. I wouldn't go off the torsion beam. Go right under frame of the car and you should be fine.

See that silver block there in the upper right hand corner, not my car, that's where they jacked the car before is that a safe jack point?

And that's the front subframe right? And is that a safe point to use?

Well I am going to look into stands with the groove cause the idea of the edges on 4 welds on stands just sounds like it can slip and fall off. But I guess I can just use the jack points they used before for the jacking part since it didn't so anything to the car.

You could also try putting 2x4's or some piece of wood under the weld if you're afraid of it crushing.
