07 G35 Sedan Fog Light Bulb upgrade?

Hi all-

I was on my way home tonight in some incredibly dense fog. This was the first time I had the occasion to test the fog lights on my 07 G35x Sedan. I was extremely disappointed - turning on the fog lights actually made visibility worse. I'm not sure if this is because the lights are mounted at the same level as the headlights or because they're not colored bulbs.

Does anyone have any experience with upgrading the fog light bulbs to something that will emit a light that is better for fog driving - maybe something with a bright yellow hugh? I'm all ears if anyone has other suggestions (although I'm not really interested in modding the bumper to install ground level lights or anything like that).
