Read my first post and you will see how I modified the stock speaker "enclosure" to hold the Infinitys. If you do not use the stock enclosure or make some standoffs the window will hit the speaker when rolling down. The dongle is 3M taped to the backside of the door skin, near the speaker cut out.robbins67 wrote:I am planning on adding the Infinity Kappa 62.9i to the door locations but am wondering if it is a direct drop in replacement for the factory units or was any modification done to make these speakers fit. Also how did you secure the dongle that is attached? I have the 14 speaker system.
just wondering whats with all the fat mat on the back seat wall & floor of seat? You don't have huge base to do all that mating do you?DeanM45 wrote:Went ahead and installed the same speakers in the rear doors today. Picked up some FatMat which is a much cheaper version of Dynamat. Did the rear doors and back seat area. Really cut down on road noise. The rear speakers added a good fill over the stock speakers which I had running off of the stock amp---all door speakers are now on the Kenwood. It is really amazing how good the Infinity speakers are over the stock Bose/Infiniti speakers.Very happy with the way things are progressing.
oh ok gotcha. was just wondering is all. do you have pics of ur trunk now?DeanM45 wrote:I now have a box in the trunk but at the time it was done for future upgrades and to cut down road noise (which it did). Now with the box (12" Aline Type S in band pass box driven with 1K watts) there are zero rattles).
