I am planning on adding the Infinity Kappa 62.9i to the door locations but am wondering if it is a direct drop in replacement for the factory units or was any modification done to make these speakers fit. Also how did you secure the dongle that is attached? I have the 14 speaker system.

Read my first post and you will see how I modified the stock speaker "enclosure" to hold the Infinitys. If you do not use the stock enclosure or make some standoffs the window will hit the speaker when rolling down. The dongle is 3M taped to the backside of the door skin, near the speaker cut out.

Thanks. I already picked up the Infinity 1031t tweeters and plan on installing this weekend. I will check out the mounting for the lower speakers then. Thanks for the post with all the pics and info. When you performed the installs for all the speakers, were you able to find any Metra wiring harnesses or did you cut the connectors and solder/tape.

I cut the factory connectors off and soldered/heat shrink tubing some extension wire to get to the speaker "dongles".

Really cut down on road noise. The rear speakers added a good fill over the stock speakers which I had running off of the stock amp---all door speakers are now on the Kenwood. It is really amazing how good the Infinity speakers are over the stock Bose/Infiniti speakers.Very happy with the way things are progressing.

just wondering whats with all the fat mat on the back seat wall & floor of seat? You don't have huge base to do all that mating do you?

I now have a box in the trunk but at the time it was done for future upgrades and to cut down road noise (which it did). Now with the box (12" Aline Type S in band pass box driven with 1K watts) there are zero rattles).

Forgot I had some on my phone. Not the best pics but you get the idea. I didn't want to use a box because of the loss of trunk space but I got a great deal on the setup and the sound difference is phenomenal. I have the sub amp mounted to the back of the box. Used a 2 gauge to 4 gauge distribution block for the power. Everything else should be pretty self explanatory.

I was wondering how you mounted the tweeters. Did you remove the "grilles" from the tweeters, use the original mount bracket, etc. The orignial Bose tweeter doesnt have a grille and mounts to the bracket with a single phillips screw. The Infinity tweeter doesn't have the same hole in the back for mounting and the grille seems to hit the cover. The optional mounts that came with the Infinity tweeters make it stickout even more.

I popped the tweeter out of the "cup" that Infinity supplies w/it. Put it in the pillar grill cavity and then made a plastic "bar" to hold it in that mounts with two screws (one was used for the original tweeter and then there is another boss that I tapped into). Keep in mind that if you go this route (mount the tweeter without the "cup") then you must isolate the back of the tweeter from the metal door frame or the tweeter will short out. I used some very thin, acoustic non electrical foam that I had. Isolates the tweeter back from the metal and prevents any rattles or buzzes. And yes, I kept the Infinity grills on the tweeters.

Got Infinity's installed yesterday. Tweeters are very nice, big upgrade. Door speakers are better than bose so i decided to get 2 more. Gona put Infinity Reference 6032si in the back.
P.S Kappas are nice in high and midrange. Very crisp with those tweeters, but not enough bass. Voices sound amazing, very clear.
What are the options for stock sub replacement?

Anyone knows how to hook up an amp to stereo and door speakers? Can't figure out. I got 8 speaker Bose with navigation.
Also any idea how to tone down the tweeters? Mine are way too harsh
