I have an 04 G35 Coupe with the standard 17x7.5 30mm (F) and 17x8 33mm (R) wheels. I am looking in to replacing the wheels and was curious about whether or not I could go to 18" or 19" wheels.

I searched the forums but could not find a similar thread that touched on whether or not this was possible. I found a few threads where people were listing the new wheel sizes they purchased, but it didn't reference the size of wheel they had originally and/or whether or not any other work was required when going with the larger size.

Once again thanks in advance for your help. There's no better place to come for answers!

Yes, both 18" and 19" wheels are possible to do in your Coupe. Just find something in the 8" to 8.5" width range, with similar offsets (like about 33mm or so) and it will work quite well. You will need to reduce the tire aspect ratio a bit to make it all fit, of course ... just end up with approximately the same rolling diameter or revs/mile (more accurate) as your current wheel and tire combination and it will work out pretty well.

But, now let me ask you this: why do you want to change? Your current wheels are quite nice as they are - even in a 17" size! I had them on my 1995 Q45 and they looked very nice indeed.

In your shoes, I would much rather spend the money on excellent tires (like a 245/45-17 Michelin PS2 or Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 or something like that) and get great results for performance and handling and wet braking, etc.

Frankly, unless you spend a lot of money on wheels, most after-market stuff is not good enough, imho, to go on an Infiniti. Yes, you could get the 2003/2004 M45 OEM wheels (these are 18x7.5 with 35mm offset) or the 2000-2005 Q45 OEM wheels (these are 18x8 with 35mm offset, as I recall) or the more recent 18" G35 wheels, and those are good options, but the looks will be quite similar to your current wheels.

Thanks for the feedback and advice.

As to why - i'm just contemplating what else, if anything to do on the car.

If I had to make the decision today I would keep the wheels I have and spend the money on a new mountain bike or some upgrades for my jeep.

Thanks again!
