Got home yesterday and tried to open the trunk to get my laptop out.....nothing.
Tried the button inside....nothing.
Flipped the switch in the glove box (reset procedure)....nothing.
Called Infiniti and they told me it was probably the trunk actuator and told me how to open the trunk by dropping the back seat with the red pull string.
Googled and others had same issue, but cause was broken wires in the harness.
So, I checked and this is my problem....three broken wires (dark green, light green, black)....probably explains why my trunk light doesn't work....
There is very little slack in the wires and it's almost impossible to get to the wires that are down in the boot.
I'm think about slicing the boot open to get to the wires so that I can fix them.
Anybody know of a better way than slicing the boot??? :gotme
Going to call Infiniti to see what they would change to replace that harness.

Hadn't heard of that. Can you get a pic of where the wires are?

When you open the trunk, it's the black rubber boot that goes from the trunk lid into the body of the car. It's about 6 to 8 inches long. I pulled the boot out of the trunk and pulled it down to expose the wires which you could see were broke.
I pulled the boot down further the expose the other end of the wires, and only could see one. Not easy.
I called Infiniti and they said they knew of the problem and would fix all of the wires and weather proof it for $115.....so, it is there now.
I do most of my own stuff, but after seeing those tiny wires and knowing it would be a pain to do, I decided it would be $115 well spent. :yesnod

damn... guess im late... but you could of tried using wire tap for each of the three wires... basically patch the broken wires. it wuld be no cutting involved. But i completely understand, sometimes your time is more valuable and its money well spent.
