03 Sentra Troubles

My Girlfriend has a 2003 Sentra with the 1.8 and A/T. The car has 269 000 km. A couple of months ago the car started idling rough until the car had warmed up. If you tried to drive the car it would buck and not accelerate. If however you turn the key off for a couple of seconds, after the car had warmed up, it would drive perfectly. Now that it's winter and the temperatures are colder, the car will start and stall as many as five times before it will actually stay running. All of this seems to have started after the voltage regulator went on the alternator and fried the battery. I have done some searching on here and it seems like the MAF could be a possible problem. Just woundering if anyone has had a similar issue, or any idea as to what could be causing it.

try cleaning the MAF sensor and maybe try the idle relearn
