I had the same problem. When I was doing my oil change I noticed that the splash guard that goes around the inside of the wheel well was pulled down a bit almost touching the CV axle. Well, I pushed it up and put a new bolt where one was missing and I haven't had the noise since. It was rubbing up against the CV axle and it usually made the noise when it was cold and when I applied any throttle.BooGKnighT wrote:ok, never posted b4 but maybe someone can help. since its been below freezing in chicago whenever i turn my steering wheel more than half way to either side and accelerate around a turn there is a squeaking/ squealing kind of sound coming from around the wheels. i dont know much about mechanics and its way too cold outside to poke around under there with no clue as to whats going on. it could just be a belt or something? power steering? wheel rubbing (doubt this one)? too much salt somewhere???? i have no idea.... if anyone has any thought or suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. i really just want to know if its something to worry about......... thanx.
