ok, never posted b4 but maybe someone can help. since its been below freezing in chicago whenever i turn my steering wheel more than half way to either side and accelerate around a turn there is a squeaking/ squealing kind of sound coming from around the wheels. i dont know much about mechanics and its way too cold outside to poke around under there with no clue as to whats going on. it could just be a belt or something? power steering? wheel rubbing (doubt this one)? too much salt somewhere???? i have no idea.... if anyone has any thought or suggestion it would be greatly appreciated. i really just want to know if its something to worry about......... thanx.

It's probably your tires squealing. Probably nothing to worry about.

Could be a number of things with tires being one of them. If it were happening normally I would say it was the top strut mount bushing. Could also be the front sway bar bushings as well.

I had the same problem. When I was doing my oil change I noticed that the splash guard that goes around the inside of the wheel well was pulled down a bit almost touching the CV axle. Well, I pushed it up and put a new bolt where one was missing and I haven't had the noise since. It was rubbing up against the CV axle and it usually made the noise when it was cold and when I applied any throttle.

u know, i think that could be exactly what it is. i did notice that it seemed like something in the undercarriage was poking out more than usual, but it WAY too cold to get under there since it happened and i try not to be so concerned cuz im just plain paranoid about problems with my first real investment...

im not ruling anything out yet, but thanx dood
