Alright, so i bought some royal purple gear lube and I am about to change out the transmission lube on my 03 S-ER.

Thing is, garage is currently taken up.. So I was going to jack the car up in the street.. and my 240 isn't running right now.. so if I don't knock it out in one go i'm kinda stuck here for the time being.

I have a manual (thinking chilton, too lazy to go check) but it pretty much sucks and doesn't show me whats going on down there for my car..

So how do the angles work out? Do I need to get some kind of pump to feed the lube in? Do I need an o-ring or seal for the speed-o connection? Any special tools?

I'd like to have it all together b4 I get it up on jacks, but I would like to get going b4 it gets dark so quick answers please

I know on the earlier b15's (00-01) with the SR20DE you'd need a huge allen wrench for the drain plug... Rest is finding a long enough tube and funnel to run to the opening to fill it...I don't know about the SE-R's though.

thanks, haven't managed to get under there yet.. partially lazy and partially wanting more info

I should have the allen.. and I found a pump+tube that should be able to go on the bottle.. so that should work nicely.

looking over my old posts...

my change was super easy; called a dealership and verified I didn't need a seal; and then just went about pulling it.

However a buddy of mine has an older 2.0 and we went to change his.

The alan on that thing is massive... Like so big no local tool stores carry it (sears, wholesale...autozone..o'reillys, walmart)..

We got in contact with a dealership

and they laughed and told us they used a bolt (using the bolt head) w/ a socket on the back of the bolt/vicegrips..pipe.. w/e they have to do.

Fuggin crazy

we got it done.. nissan tight

yeah, if we were patient thats what we would have done. Might tell him he should order one for future anyway.

Pretty crappy that a licensed dealership is using a bolt head as a tool eh?
