I'm looking at an '03 350Z with 57,000 miles at a local Nissan dealer's lot. It is in beautiful condition and runs and drives great. Are there any problems with the '03s that I should be aware of? Any record of excessive maintenance or repair costs?

Thanks, Don

tire feathering was supposed to be handled with a recal, there si a common problem with power window motors, many of which are handled under warranty, might be good to know if these have been replaced yet

hmm i think theres something with the rear axel bolts and them being redone. and a transmission problem with it grinding going into some gears... id say get the warranty to be on the safe side... i bought my z used with 48k on it and right around 51k i had the transmission problem and got a new one in the car for 50$(my deductable on the warranty) and it paid for its self twice over. but on the other hand nothing might go wrong but hey alittle extra tacked on to each payment isnt a huge deal.

I have an 03 with 0 problems. All the major issues are easily fixed.-Tire Feathering are usually fixed with different tires and Toe adjustment-Window problem are fixed with getting a new window motor installed-Axle click are usually fixed by the dealer with no charge since it's a common problem. The only main problem is the transmission. You should have caught that when you test drove it, so it must not have it or probly fixed under warranty.

Are those three problems the most common among the '03 350Z's?I am also looking into 350Z's and just doing some research.

Sometimes the flapper valve on the gas tank does not allow you to fill the tank completely with gas. There was a TSB on that as well.

Take care of her and she will take care of you.

My 03 hasnt given me any trouble but I've only put 10k on her in 3 years. So that might be the reason. The major issues have been identified above.

I have a 03 with 45,000 miles had to get my trans replaced at 35,000 according to my research this is the most common of all the problems the syncro goes out in 2-4 gear makes a horrible noise when shifting newer models are supposed to not have this problem at all but i wouldn't trade my car for anything i love it and the new trans is awesoommee
