What is the real capability of the all wheel drive in my '02 QX4. Is it capable of moving if only one wheel has traction ( as the MB or Audi tiptonic systems or the BMW allow)? What does center locking differential really do? Does it have limited slip? I wasn't able to get up a steep snow covered driveway that a Subaru WRX negotiated with ease. ( PS I'm using michellin's not the OEM Bridgestone Duellers.) Thanks

My 02 brochure says the limited slip rear differential is part of the Heated Seats Package, and is with 4WD only. My 02 is 4WD but doesn't have that package. Therefore I don't have LSRD.

You wouldn't need to worry about it with the automatic 4WD on. The electronic displacement of slip is regulated by the automatic system.
