i think my clock light has burnt out. does this pry out of the dash, or do i need to remove the bezel around the navi? is there a special bulb, or can i get this at radio shack?

also, it appears as if there is supposed to be a light on the driver's door panel just above the window switches. if so, that too is burnt out. do i have to remove the whole door panel to get to this, or does this also "pry" out for easy replacement.

any help would be much appreciated.

also, i am looking for a f.s.m. so i can learn how to do things for myself. as you may know, these cars are too nice to "experiment" with by trying to remove clips and trim panels without knowing the proper procedure.

thank you in advance to anyone who is willing to share their knowledge.

thank you for the excellent reply. i really appreciate it.

do you know where i could get a copy of the f.s.m. for the 02Q45?

the pics that you showed really help, and i think the fsm would really come in handy for me to remove the rear package tray. (i need to replace some clips on my rear shade so that it will operate properly) i went in through the trunk, removing all the trim, only to find it is not the way to get at the shade. i think i need to go in from the back seat.

has anyone else had to replace these clips? i heard there was a technical bulletin on these?

thanks again,

kjsounds

i looked in the parts book nad im not sure what your talking about the light on the door panel, maybe you could be more specific...

Else, the part number for the clock light bulb is: 24860-AR200- SOCKET AND BULB ASSY

the door bulb i was referring to is between the interior door handle, and the memory seat buttons. there is a small white plastic lens, that looks like it was made to light up? anyone know what this is? can i just pry it off in order to look, or do i need to remove the entire door panel?

maybe this is a fibre optic light? or maybe just a bulb.

also, i tried to download the fsm for the 02 Q45, but it won't open. anyone know what program will open this up? it is a .rar extension. word won't read it.

thanks

does anyone out there that owns an 02 Q45 have a light on the drivers' door panel? it should be located dead smack in between the memory seat buttons, and the chrome door handle. does this light?

also, i have tried repeatedly to get this service manual downloaded. i tried loading .rar as well, to no avail. i did get part of it, but the rest is in greek i think.

i'm just trying to get some pics for some repair issues on my Q

also, it seems as though i have some burnt out bulbs in the center cluster area. has anybody had luck finding these at the local radio shack?

Wow - I've been looking at the FSM for removing the door panel just to get to this vanity light thing... Looks like a real pain and not worth the effort - I'm also afraid I'll break something on there and then I'm really screwed... Couldn't they have made that thing to where it just prys off ???

I replaced the bulbs in my clock. There are phillip-head screws behind the little trim pieces on each side of the screen holding the plastic cover onto the dash. Once you get those out, the entire panel comes out (radio buttons and all) and then you have to disconnect a couple wiring connectors and then set it off to the side. You'll then see the screws that hold the clock in. The bulbs for the clock are about $15 each at the dealer, but I bought some on the auction site for a G35 (or something like that). I then moved the bulbs over from the G35 socket to the Q45 socket. Worked like a champ. You may have to search my older posts to find out exactly what bulbs I purchased. They were like $5 for 3 bulbs shipped and they're the same bulb as the Q45, only different housings.

Does anyone have the steps to replace this light? This poster stated he did it but didn't answer anyone else as to how he accomplished the light replacement. Anyone?

I also replaced the map lights and ended up messing up one. They are held on by something that I couldn't figure out and had a heck of a time replacing both. I basically ripped them out of their sockets but now one won't turn on when the door opens. It only works if you press the button to turn it on. #ISuck
