'01 Qx4 Awd/4wd System

hi,

I have recently bought a '01 QX4 with 13K miles and in showroom condition, it drives great and feels great!

I am bit confused about the AWD system in my vehicle ie. when I switch to AUTO mode all 4 green wheels light up in instrument!! when i switch to 4H again all 4 green wheels light also!. I am confused because seems to be no difference between AUTO and 4H!!!!!! . I like to know if I have locking differentials in my QX4 and if yes which one: front,centre or rear??? thanks

I think the difference is that AUTO means that it engages AWD when traction is lost, whereas 4h has 4wd on all the time...... Thats how it works on our suburban......
