So ever since i picked up my 01 i30, I had presumed the alignment was off as the car would often pull to the right. The dealer didn't have time to check it before I drove it off, but they did take $100 off the price so I could do it myself. I had a 4 wheel alignment check and they actually found it to be pretty straight. They made a very slight adjustment to straighten it out, but it has not helped with the pulling.
Sometimes, it runs straight as an arrow, but most times it is pulling...sometimes more severe than others (I've also found the front right tire has a slow leak, but even when topped off it still pulls). The guys that did the alignment noted my tires were in pretty bad shape, which I already knew, but they suggested their poor condition could be the cause. I need to replace them soon but I don't want to put on new rubbers if this thing is going to keep pulling and cause uneven wear.
Can anyone suggest what might be causing this? Would worn out tie rod ends be the culprit? Could it possibly be just the tires? If I get the front wheels off the ground, is there anything I can check for, such as a wobbly tire if I try to rock it side to side/up and down/etc...what should I look out for?
I appreciate any feedback. Thanks.
